As a wedding and family photographer, I get to capture important moments for my clients to treasure forever. As a boudoir photographer, I get to do something even better: make women feel as beautiful as they are.
The only difference between a super model and the woman next door is that the super model has professional photographers on her side (that and she doesn’t get to eat yummy dessert). I firmly believe that every woman is cover-worthy in the hands of the right photographer. I love getting to be that photographer–getting to show you, and the world, how beautiful you are.
So whether you’re creating a gift for your fiance, creating a memory of your pre-babies figure, or wanting to remind yourself that you’re as sexy now as you’ve ever been, I look forward to revealing that drop-dead-gorgeous side of you! (You MUST be 18 or older to book a session-NO ACCEPTIONS!)
Boudoir, French for bedroom, refers to images that have themes of romance, sensuality, and flirtation. It is not necessary to be nude or revealing in female boudoir photography. It has more to do with an attitude or state of mind than the state of dress or undress. The primary ideas conveyed in female boudoir photography are love, affection, romance, and giving. Female Boudoir .
Thank you to Jen who so kindly allowed me to use these on my site and to those of you who will be having a Boudoir shoot in the next week or so for the same purpose!
COMMON QUESTIONS……
What should I bring?
The first rule is to never worry about bringing too much. When in doubt, bring it! Bring cute bras, undies, nighties, sockings, heels, necklaces, earrings, your guy’s favorite shirt or an item you steal from him for the day to incorporate as a prop (instrument, hat, etc).
Where will the shoot be?
The most common locations for boudoir shoots are your home or a hotel. If you’d like to use a hotel, you can usually arrange for a great discount if you just book it for a few hours on a weekday morning. (You’ll feel a little shady, but it’s worth it!) Feel free to get creative and think of other private locations-if your man has a car hobby, why not take some out in the garage, if he likes Harley’s, why not take some on the Harley…have fun, get creative!
Will I have to get naked?
NOPE!!! You know how in Anchorman Ron Burgandy signs off every broadcast with “Stay Classy, San Diego!” That’s a good motto. I like for the images to stay in the PG-13 range. I frequently use poses that “create the illusion of nudity” where all you do is slip down your bra straps! And if you’d like to capture a few nude poses, you can be comfortable knowing that it will be handled in a tasteful way!
Will you put my pictures on this site?
Only if you say it’s okay! Your images will be private unless you allow me to share them.
How should I do my make-up? Are there any special things I should do on the day of the shoot?
Be sure to moisturize. Pennsylvania loves to show up in photos via dry skin and lips, so make sure your lips and skin are well moisturized the day of your shoot. (The one caveat to this is to choose your lotions carefully–stay away from anything sparkley or with an SPF–neither of these types of moisturizers photograph well.)
With makeup and boudoir shoots, sometimes more is more. Go easy on your foundation, powder, and concealer, but this is the time to go for it on your eye make-up and lipstick. And if you want to add some false lashes to the mix, they look fantastic! Drama is in!
I look forward to speaking with you…..remember, no question is a stupid question.

Hey ladies, if you are nervous about doing something like this, so was I at first. That only lasted about thirty seconds with Jen as the photographer. By the end of our shoot I forgot that I was standing in my bra and panties! I can’t believe that’s me in those pictures! She really makes you feel beautiful. She knows her stuff and she’s the only photographer I would ever allow into my bedroom
) This was something new for me and I enjoyed every single minute of it. Every lady needs to feel drop-dead gorgeous every once in a while…this did it for me!
