The number one rule for a jen mcken photography session? It must be fun. Before the session we’ll chat on the phone, discussing everything from the location to clothing choices to the post-session timeline.
All sessions take place on location, either at your home or another outdoor setting that we choose together. Downtown urban? Rustic barn? Your living room? All great choices, and certainly some settings will feel more “you” than others–just let me know! Sessions typically last one - two hours and are never rushed. Stress-free sessions are the rule of the day and there’s always a moment for a little break.

Clothing choices should reflect your family’s personality as well as complement the location selected for the shoot. I am happy to help you decide what to wear before the shoot or help you select from a few of your favorites on the day of the session. Wardrobe changes for a variety of looks are also welcome. I LOVE bold, bright colors and textured, layered looks; while traditional choices have their place, a well-selected trendy ensemble can be stunning as well.
